The car roof strips progressively open or close the roof opening, abut in closure and form flat roof element so guided as to perform a translatory movement when adjusted. The slats pivot and fold up forwards when opening, and when closing they reform to complete the closure. A cassette (16) not participating in the translatory movement extends relative the fixed roof (12) to take the roof strips(10) underneath it, when folded into the roof open position. USE/ADVANTAGE - For openable car roofs,without disturbing noise,ambient pollution,and with reduced slipstream effect.
