摘要 The optical positioning aid uses light of specified wavelength to form a virtual image of an object such that the driver can view this through a partly transparent vehicle unit, which is arranged spatially above the vehicle edge forming the bearing points. Light (7) illuminates a fixed object within the vehicle (1) as light spot (9) which is reflected in a mirror in the driver's field of vision (M). The mirror reflects the source light of specified wavelength into the eye of the driver (AP,M). The mirror (5) moves between rest setting (5') when out of use, and an active setting to reflect the light spot. When at rest it covers over the light spot and source (7). The source can only be actuated when the mirror is in its active setting and the distance between light spot (9) and eye (AP) equals that between the vehicle edge (6) and driver's eye (AP). USE/ADVANTAGE - For head-up, display of edge of car during difficult manoeuvres, e.g. parking. Functions even in dark environments.
