The hydraulically-operated automotive disc brake has pistons working in cylinders in a calliper, with a connecting passage between the cylinders. The cylinders (3,4) in each half of the calliper (1) are connected in series by a passage (2), which has a separate inlet (11) and outlet (13). In each inlet and outlet is a non-return valve (16,17). Seen in the brake fluid flow direction (18), one of these valves is in front of the first cylinder (3), and the other one behind the fourth one (6).
