According to a process for manufacturing high-resistance foils made of aromatic copolyamides, (a) a solution of an aromatic copolyamid is at first prepared; (b) this solution is poured on a solid substrate; (c) the poured foil is pre-dried in order to remove part of the solvent; (d) coagulation is carried out in a precipitating agent; and (e) the foil is finally dried in order to remove the coagulating agent and the residual amide solvent. This process is characterized in that the dimension retention factor D in the longitudinal and/or transverse direction is greater than or equal to 0.9 during process steps (c), (d) and (e).
