In a process and apparatus for gasifying fine-grained to powdery fuels with a downstream gas and steam turbine power station, the gasification is carried out under a pressure of at least 10 bar and at a temperature of at least 1400 DEG C, the molten slag arising during the gasification being caused to solidify by cooling with water, whose temperature is 20 to 30 DEG C below its boiling point corresponding to the particular gasification pressure. The desired water temperature is here maintained by continuously withdrawing a part-stream of the water and circulating it through a steam generator and cooling it therein, the steam generated being fed to the steam turbine of the gas and steam turbine power station. <IMAGE> |
