PURPOSE:To obtain the subject molded body capable of providing a carbon-fiber reinforced carbon composite material of a good shape without causing laminar cracks in burning and carbonizing by impregnating 4 carbon fiber woven fabric with a carbonizable resin, laminating the resultant sheets, pressurizing, heating and molding the laminate and subsequently heating the molded laminate under reduced pressure. CONSTITUTION:Carbon fiber woven fabric is impregnated with a carbonizable resin (e.g. a liquid phenolic resin), heated at ambient temperature for 4hr and then precured at 100 deg.C in an oven for 45min to provide a carbon fiber prepreg having 50% resin basis weight. The resultant woven fabric prepreg is then cut to 30cm square and 20 sheets are laminated, hot molded in an atmosphere at 150 deg.C under 2kg/cm<2> pressure in an autoclave for 120min and subsequently heat-treated at 150 deg.C under 5mmHg vacuum in a vacuum dryer for 40hr to afford the objective precursor molded body, useful as a carbon-fiber reinforced carbon composite and capable of providing the carbon-fiber reinforced carbon composite having a good shape without causing laminar cracks in burning and carbonizing. |
