The cooking of potato chips in fryers is expensive, causes pollution and has drawbacks from the nutritional point of view. In order to avoid these disadvantages, cooking devices have been proposed in which the chips are cooked by radiant heat or in a stream of air. The results have not yet proved satisfactory. A chip-cooking device is therefore proposed which is fitted with air-directing devices (8, 26, 33) which circulate the air past the heater (11), then parallel to the longitudinal axis of a basket (2), towards the apertures in the basket (2), radially through the apertures, and back, parallel to the longitudinal axis of the basket (2), to the fan. |
