PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent feed for dairy cattle effective for improving the milk fat content by pelletizing a whole-grain cotton seed in a state resistant to breakage. CONSTITUTION:A pellet feed having a diameter of about 8-10mm and a length of about 10-30mm is prepared by mixing 30-60wt.% of lint-containing or lint-free whole grain cotton seed with 15-50wt.% of a binder composed of rye bran and/or rice bran for Japanese rice wine, extruding the mixture with an extruder in the form of strand and drying the extrudate with hot air while tearing into pieces in a rotary drier. The obtained pellet feed has excellent palatability and is effective for improving the milk fat content. |
