摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful as a raw material for antipsychotic agent, etc., in high quality and high yield without producing a by-product by reacting carbamoylbipiperidine, etc., with an ammonium salt, etc., in water kept in a prescribed temperature range in the presence of a catalyst for catalytic reduction. CONSTITUTION:4'-Carbamoyl-1,4'-bipiperidine or its protected compound is reacted with an ammonium salt such as ammonium chloride or a formic acid salt having pKa >=3.7 in water heated at a temperature from 95 deg.C to boiling point in the presence of a catalyst for catalytic reduction such as palladium carbon and then, as necessary, subjected to deprotection reaction to provide the objective compound.
