2-(3'-butenyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-pyrans of the general formula <IMAGE> wherein R is a hydrogen group or an alkyl group with 1 to 6 carbon atoms. Methods for the synthesis of these compounds and their use as reactive modifiers or diluents for cationically curable monomers or polymers.
