<p>PURPOSE:To provide a thin-walled, lightweight and rigid fiber reinforced resin(FRP) casing suitable for the housing of an electric and electronic apparatus and its low cost and simple manufacturing method. CONSTITUTION:In a FRP casing consisting substantially of plane part and side part, the plane part has sandwich structure solidified with resin under the condition that low density nonwoven fiber sheet such as hollow-particle containing synthetic paper or the like is pinched between two plies of reinforcing fiber sheets 1 and 2. The side part has structure solidified only the reinforcing fiber sheets 1 and 2 with the resin. The casing can be easily formed with simplified molds, which are prepared by assembling a female mold and a male mold, each of which is produced by pressing a metal plate in the form of casing.</p> |
