PURPOSE:To speed up focus detection by deciding a focus detection result as to a range finding point and selecting the range finding point without waiting for a focus detection result at another range finding point when the focus detec tion as to one range finding point ends. CONSTITUTION:A lens control circuit 2 makes a serial communication through a DBUS while receiving an LCOM signal from a microcomputer 1 and controls a motor according to the communication contents to control a distance ring and a stop. Further, the microcomputer 1 receives focal length information on a lens, distance information, best focus correction information, other various correction information, etc. When focus detecting operation is performed at plural range finding points, it is decided whether or not the focus detection result at the range finding point whose focus detecting operation ends first matches the range finding point without waiting for the focus detection results of other range finding points; when it is decided that the decision result matches the range finding point, lens driving based upon the focus result of the range finding point is performed. |
