PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of defocusing due to high-speed zooming by inhibiting high-speed power varying operation in recording mode and monitor mode wherein no recording medium is loaded. CONSTITUTION:When a video cassette is not loaded, it is judged that the camera output is monitored and a high-speed zooming inhibition signal is sent to a camera microcomputer 110 by using a control signal C1 to inhibit a control switch 120 from being switched to a high-voltage side contact H for the high- speed zooming, fix the switch at a low-voltage side contact L for a normal speed, and also inhibit recording on a tape. When it is confirmed that the video cassette is loaded, it is confirmed whether a switch 126 is closed, namely, whether a recording state is entered or not; when it is confirmed that the device is in the recording state, the high-speed zooming is inhibited and the recording operation is performed, but when it is confirmed that the device is not in the recording state, the device is in a recording stand-by state, the high-speed zooming is permitted, and the recording operation is expected in the recording stand-by state. |
