PRODUCTION OF ALKYL GLYCERYL ETHER

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the yield and the purity of the product in production of a glyceryl ether by hydrolysis of a glycidyl ether having a 8-22C alkyl group. CONSTITUTION:Hydrolysis by water is carried out by using phosphoric acid or activated clay as an acid catalyst and previously adding, as the solvent, a monoalkyl ether of propylene glycol or dipropylene glycol to the hydrolysis reaction system. Side reactions such as polymerization can be inhibited and a high-purity glyeryl ether can be obtained in a high yield.
