PURPOSE:To cut preceding and succeeding plates without distinguishing them from each other and to butt-weld them with high precision by clamping a preceding plate and cutting the tip part thereof, then, moving and clamping a succeeding plate, cutting off its tip part at the same position as the cut off position of the preceding plate, then, welding the butt parts of both plates. CONSTITUTION:The preceding plate 1 is clamped to cut off its tip part, then, the tip part of the succeeding plate 2 is moved above or below the preceding plate 1 to clamp the succeeding plate 2. The tip part of the succeeding plate 2 is cut off at the same position as the cut off position of the precceeding plate 1, then, the butt parts of the cut off end faces of both plates 1, 2 are welded. Therefore, high-precision butt free from individual distinction by a cutter and from the influence of stop error by the movement of a welding device and by the movement of the plate is carried out to obtain stable welding. |
