<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title new compound useful as an intermediate for producing a beta-lactam-based antimicrobial compound. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by formula I [A is CR<5> or N; R1 is H or amino protecting group; R2 and R3 are H or lower alkyl, phenyl, benzyl or diphenylmethyl and R2 and R3 together form lower alkylene; R4 and R5 are H or lower alkyl] such as 1-{[(4S)-2,2-dimethyl-1, 3-dioxolan-4-yl]-(4-methoxy) phenylimino} methylimidazole. The compound expressed by formula I is obtained by e.g. reacting N-(4-methoxy)phenyl-{(4S)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl] methane}imine with imidazole expressed by formula III.</p> |
