<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a vehicle from being quickly accelerated/decelerated just after automatic braking has been released, and thereby avoid rear-end collision by prohibiting releasing automatic braking if an accelerator is actuated or the brake is applied when automatic braking is released accompanied by scraping avoiding actions. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave radar unit 31 is provided for the front section of a car body, signals transmitted when reflected waves which are hit against a block in front and are then reflected, are received by a receiving section so as to be outputted to an operating unit 32, so that a distance between our own vehicle and the block in front, and relative speed are thereby operated. And possible scraping of the block is judged on the result of the operation so that such actions as automatic braking are taken to avoid scraping. In this case, a control unit 45 is so designed as to prohibit releasing automatic braking when it is detected by a brake application detecting means 39 or an accelerator actuation detecting means 40 that the brake has been applied or an accelerator has been actuated before automatic braking is released by an actuator 16 when there happens no possible collision at all.</p> |
