<p>PURPOSE:To shorten a car body transport line by furnishing the transport device with a floor conveyor and an overhead conveyor, transferring car body from one to the other effectively, and meantime turning the direction of the car body at an angle of 90 deg.. CONSTITUTION:A car body transporting device concerned is composed of a floor conveyor FC laid on the floor surface to transport car body B in the attitude alongside the line, a car body attitude changing means 13 which can change at an angle of 90 deg. the direction of car body B round the plumb axis, and a car body moving means 14 which enables handing-over and reception of the car body B between these two members FC, 13 and which is located between the end of the floor conveyor and the means 13. Further, this is fitted at least with an overhead conveyor OC, which is to transport the car body B in the attitude facing aside and is installed in a position over the car body moving means 14 alongside the transporting direction 17, and an elevating/ sinking transfer means 16 which is installed between the overhead conveyor OC and the car body attitude changing means 13 and which transfers the car body B in attitude facing aside from the attitude changing means 13 to overhead conveyor OC and vice versa.</p> |
