PURPOSE:To improve durable life by adjusting a physical parameter relating to the load of a frictional joint element in a load reducing direction when deterioration occurring with the elapse of time in the frictional joint performance of the frictional joint element is above a fixed value. CONSTITUTION:A control unit controls line pressure so as to make speed change time required for speed change in the case of 2nd-3rd speed shift coincide with established speed change time, and stores the above line pressure with its renewal. At the same time, deterioration in the joint performance of a clutch 27 for 3rd-4th speed change is detected from the fluctuation of speed change time to the line pressure. When the deterioration becomes above fixed value, 2nd-3rd upshift speed change line is moved toward the side of low speed to reduce a load borne by the clutch 27. |
