PURPOSE:To obtain excellent antistatic performance and, at the same time, enhance surface appearance by a method wherein the draw-out direction of sheet-like matter, which is produced by extruding composition prepared by compounding antistatic material with methacrylate resin in the form of sheet, from a pair of cooling and glazing rolls is set within the specified angular range. CONSTITUTION:In order to manufacture transparent extruded methacrylate resin sheet suitable for illuminator, signboard, various ornaments and the like, composition prepared by compounding 0.1-5 pts.wt. of antistatic agent made of alkali metal or the like such as sulfonic acid or the like with 100 pts.wt. of methacrylate resin is melted, kneaded and extruded through a T-die 3 into sheet-like molten resin 4 and finally inserted between a pair of cooling and glazing rolls 5a and 5b. At the insertion of the extruded resin between a pair of the cooling and glazing rolls 5a and 5b, the angle between the line connecting two centers of a pair of the rolls 5a and 5b and the center line in the direction of the thickness of the sheet-like molten resin 4 is set to be 90+ or -20 deg.. Thus, the contact of the sheet-like molten resin 4 with the rolls 5a and 5b becomes a little, resulting in obtaining fine surface appearing properties. |
