<p>PURPOSE:To improve electrical insulating effect so as to prevent an accident by electric shock or the like positively by covering insulated high pressure lead wires with a protecting tube made of Aramid fiber and improve safety by detecting such abnormality promptly so as to cut off feed to an electric discharge lamp. CONSTITUTION:A lighting device 1 with a battery as power source is provided with a ballast circuit 8 for performing the lighting control of an electric discharge lamp 15, and an igniter circuit 13 for performing the starting control of the electric discharge lamp 15. Both circuits 8, 13 are connected to each other by insulated high pressure lead wires 16, 16' and a connector 17. The respective high pressure lead wires 16, 16' are covered with a protecting tube 18 made of Aramid fiber. The abnormality of voltage value and current value of a feed line at the disconnected or short-circuited time of the high pressure lead wires 16, 16' is detected by an unillustrated abnormality detecting circuit. At the time of detecting abnormality, power supply to the electric discharge lamp 15 is cut off by an unillustrated isolating circuit.</p> |
