<p>PURPOSE:To miniaturize a device and simplify a structure by performing power assist, telescopic, and tilt operations with one motor. CONSTITUTION:A steering shaft 12 having a lower shaft, an intermediate shaft 16, and an upper shaft 18, a drive motor 20 having an output shaft 26, a planetary gear 32 having a ring gear 38 and a sun gear 36, a tilt drive shaft 42 connectable to the ring gear 38, and a column support housing 44 slidably connected to the ring gear 38 are provided. For the power assist operation, the first electromagnetic clutch 54 is operated to connect the output shaft 26 and the lower shaft. For the telescopic operation, the third electromagnetic clutch 58 is operated to connect the sun gear 36 and the column support housing 44. For the tilt operation, the second electromagnetic clutch 56 is operated to fix the ring gear 38, and the third electromagnetic clutch 58 is set to the semi- excitation state to fix the tilt drive shaft 42.</p> |
