PURPOSE:To judge propriety of replacing a suction nozzle according to a unified criterion by one mounting error by a method having the steps of judging whether a length and a horizontal position of a holder fall within set ranges or not if an electronic component mounting error occurs, and requesting replacement of the holder in the case of not. CONSTITUTION:If a mounting error occurs, a controller of an electronic component mounting machine measures a length of a suction nozzle of mounting means 3 by a component height detector 1, and compares it with a set value (h). If a malfunction is recognized, further a component position detector 2 compares a component suction position of the nozzle with a set range (p) and judges presence or absence of a malfunction. If both has malfunctions, replacement of the nozzle is informed to a machine operator. Thus, when a first mounting error occurs, the machine can judge whether the nozzle is required to be replaced or not, and eliminate an inefficient mounting operation. |
