PURPOSE:To provide a pump unit in which a solution containing vapor separated in an air separator chamber will not allow a float to malfunction and the air separator chamber which can comfortably separate a vapor-liquid is provided. CONSTITUTION:A shield plate 54 is provided in an air separator chamber 36 by facing to the opening at the air separator chamber 36 side of a passage 42 communicating a pump chamber 5 to the air separator chamber 36. When an oil solution containing vapor is jetted in the air separator chamber 36 from the passage 42, the oil solution collides with the shield plate 54 to decrease its force, dropping on a liquid surface. This reduces the foaming of the oil solution to the utmost to inhibit the stirring of the oil solution as well. Consequently. the vapor is separated to positively return the oil solution to the pump suction side. The result can enhance the separation efficiency of a vapor-liquid and the solution feeding efficiency of the oil solution. In addition, no bubbles or no dense vapor will be released from an air escape passage to increase safety. The loss of resources can also be prevented. |
