The invention relates to a device making it possible to achieve awareness of prerecorded information should it become necessary to be aware thereof. In the case alluded to of the study of a foreign language, the invention consists in using a magnetic tape with two tracks (1) with, on track 1, the words, phrases or questions being positioned, in a given language, in the areas A B C. The start of the corresponding areas C' B' A' containing the translations or answers corresponds to the end of the pre-indicated areas A B C, this making it possible by reversing the cassette or better still by using the AUTO REVERSE system, to switch from the foreign to the SOURCE or from the SOURCE to the FOREIGN.
