PURPOSE:To avoid the deterioration in the S/N of a branch (or distribution) device and to avoid the deterioration in a distortion of a through-circuit at a strong signal input by providing the branch (or distribution) device to an input circuit of the CATV terminal equipment, amplifying one of branched signals, and adopting a through-circuit. CONSTITUTION:An AGC variable attenuator 4 and a preamplifier 5 of an input circuit amplify an input signal in advance and the gain of the input circuit is kept constant by AGC at the input of a strong signal. Then one of the output signal from the branch device 6 is fed to a tuner circuit 7 and the other is fed to a through-circuit to give the input signal to the tuner circuit 7 and a connection terminal 2 of an external device without deterioration in the S/N in the input circuit and in the distortion in the through-circuit.
