PURPOSE:To extremely easily obtain a negative record comprising a ground part with a dark color and a record part with a relatively ligher color, by a method wherein a colored substance and decoloring substance react with each other at a molten part to locally remove a ground color, thereby forming a record with higher lightness relative to the ground color. CONSTITUTION:A recording surface of a recording paper 3 is provided with a low-lightness color due to the presence of a layer 7 comprising a colored substance, and the color constitutes the ground color. On the other hand, a decoloring ribbon 4 is provided with a layer 9 comprising a decoloring substance on a base 8, and the layers 7, 9 are set to face each other. A leuco dye in a color-developed state is used s the colored substance. The decoloring substance for decoloring the leuco dye may be a polyether or the like. When heat is supplied by a conventional thermal-type recorder, the layers 7, 9 are melted at the part supplied with the heat, and the colored substance and the decoloring substance contained in the layers 7, 9 thus melted react with each other to remove or lighten the color of the part, resulting in a record 10 with a relatively higher lightness as compared with that of the ground color. |
