PURPOSE:To make a thermal printer compact, and reduce the cost by performing the fixation of different color layers by one lamp. CONSTITUTION:The inner peripheral surface of a UV lamp 15 is divided into two areas by 180 deg. by coating those two areas with two types of fluorescent substances which respectively emit UV rays with different wave lengths. The UV lamp 15 is rotated by a pulse motor 19, and the surface, on which a fluorescent substance for yellow thermosensitive coloring layer fixation is applied, is faced to a platen drum 10 side, and the UV lamp 15 is lit up. When a color thermosensitive recording material 11 reaches the position of the UV lamp 15, a yellow image which is thermally recorded by a thermal head 13 is optically fixed. At the second rotation of the platen drum 10, the surface, on which a fluorescent substance for magenta thermosensitive coloring layer fixation is applied, is faced to the platen drum 10 side by rotating the UV lamp 15, and a magenta image which is thermally recorded is optically fixed. |
