PURPOSE:To provide a plasma display device of a high light emission efficiency by forming a pair of electrodes facing counter side walls of an insulation body enclosing a discharge space, and forming a phosphor film on an inner wall of the insulation body exposed in the discharge space. CONSTITUTION:For a plasma display device comprising a pair of electrodes disposed between a pair of parallel substrates, gas to generate a discharge by a voltage applied between the electrodes, and an insulation body enclosing a discharge space where a substrate is held and where the discharge is generated, the electrodes 2, 4 are formed facing counter side walls 6c, 6d of a main rib 6 of the insulation body. In addition, a phosphor film 10 is formed on an inner wall of the insulation body exposed in the discharge space. In this constitution, a discharge passage is formed to be laterally long, a positive column range is increased to increase a UV-ray emission quantity, a phosphor surface is increased by the phosphor film 10, and the phosphor surface can be seen directly, thereby a plasma display device of a high light emission efficiency can be provided. |
