PURPOSE:To prevent traveling stability from lowering even in out-of-step by providing stoppers for positioning a stepping motor at a reference position at which a damping force as a reference is generated and compensating the out-of-step after the stepping motor is set to the reference position by means of a control means. CONSTITUTION:Stopper pins 55 and 56 are formed on rotor 51 of a stepping motor 21, and grooves 57 and 58 are formed in a cover 53 at positions corresponding to the stopper pins 55 and 56, respectively. In a traveling condition in which change control of damping force characteristics is made in hard area, the stepping motor 27 is rotated to make the stopper pin 55 in contact with the right end part of the groove 57, positioning it at the most hard 1st reference position. In the traveling condition in which change control is made in soft area, the stopper pin 55 is made in contact with the left end part of the groove 57 to position it at the most soft 2nd reference position. Then, the out-of-step of the stepping motor 27 is compensated. Thus, the out-of-step of the motor can be compensated surely and also damping force characteristics of shock absorbers can be altered and controlled. |
