A method for inhibiting HLA-DR and HLA-DQ induced blood coagulation by binding with an endotoxin is described. The method can be used in vitro in blood to be treated and returned to the body, topically on incisions to prevent coagulation induced rejection and in vivo at very low levels to prevent the HLA induced coagulation. HLA occurs at elevated levels from metastatic tumors to cause thrombic problems. HLA also causes graft rejection due to mismatched HLA's in the graft donor and recipient. The method of the present invention reduces or eliminates these HLA induced coagulation problems.
|
