The test stand for vehicle brakes uses a drive unit (1) with the drive output shaft selectively coupled to a rotary braking device (6) of one of a line of test devices (2) via cooperating coupling halves (7,8). The drive unit (1) may be stationary, with programmed (3) relative movement of the test devices (2), or alternatively the latter are stationary, with programmed relative movement of the drive unit (1). Pref. the test devices (2) lie in line with their axes parallel to one another, the drive unit (1) displaced transverse to their axes, or alternatively the test devices (2) lie in a circle with the axes lying radially, the drive unit (1) displaced within or outside the circle.
