<p>A system and method for automatically establishing the position of a printed sample (18) relative to a reflectometer (14). The sample (18) is placed on a measurement table (10). A target incorporated with the sample (18) causes a step change in the reflectometer output signal when the target (26) is scanned by the reflectometer (14). By analyzing the step change, the location of the target (26) relative to the measurement table (10) is determined. The location of all points on the sample (18) are known relative to the target (26), thus the location of all points on the sample (18) relative to the measurement table (10) can be determined.</p> |
