The active agent (compsn.) is dissolved or dispersed in aq. polymer dispersion or dispersion combination contg. gellable assistants, or the active agent(s) are added as a soln. or dispersion to the polymer dispersion; and the dispersion or soln. (A) is dropped or sprayed into an outer aq. phase that causes the phase (A) to gel. The microparticles or pellets formed may be left as a suspension, or sepd. and dried. Pref., the mixt. includes a plasticiser or a delayed release regulator. The gellable assistant moves to the outer aq. phase by alteration of pH or temp., or by the addition of assistant. Pref., the microparticles have dia. less than 10 (less than 1) micron. USE/ADVANTAGE - For microparticles or pellets contg. agrochemicals, gardening components, household agents, or foodstuff, chemical or cosmetic components and esp. for delayed release pharmaceutical compsns. The prepn. process does not use organic solvents
