The impact protection for the occupants of a vehicle consists of an inflatable protective bag, a gas-producing belt, and an impact sensor. The protective bag is formed as a pressure chamber with the electrically ignited gas producing charge (4) enclosed in a heat-protected hose with gas outlet holes (15) and integrated within the pressure chamber (7).
