ANTI-HIV DRUG

An anti-HIV drug containing at least one porphyrin derivative selected between the following groups (A) and (B) as the active ingredient: (A) porphyrins modified with compounds selected among carbodiimides, alkylenediamines and alcohols, and (B) complexes between plasma proteins or chemically modified plasma proteins and porphyrins which may be modified with compounds selected among carbodiimides, alkylenediamines and alcohols. The drug is useful for preventing and treating AIDS, because it is excellent in the activity of killing HIV-infected cells, inhibiting cell injury caused by HIV infection and inhibiting HIV replication, and is highly safe.
