A tin container (10) is provided with a collar (20) secured to the upper brim. The collar has a truncated cone-shaped part (25) which from the container brim projects inwardly and downwardly and at the bottom through a bend (26) extends into a disc-shaped part (27), along the inner edge of which there is a locking groove (28) terminating the collar inwardly and serving to accommodate a complementary ring (32) of a lid (30). By this structure there is obtained good resistance towards both increased internal pressure and external force impacts, in particular those exerted on the container brim. |
