The present invention relates to a biodegradable and high absorbent resin composition, a nonwoven fabric made of the same and pads comprising this fabric. This resin composition can be prepared by mixing sodium alginate and the carboxylated derivatives of sodium alginate in a predetermined ratio with a synthetic polymer electrolyte. This resin composition can be spun into a fiber and a nonwoven fabric can be made from it. Pads made of this fabric have biodegradability, high absorbency and water retentivity, thereby being applicable for sanitary products.
