A heating element for deodorization contains a metallic substrate (1), an enamel layer (2) formed on the surface of the metallic substrate (1), a catalyst layer (3) comprising at least an active alumina, a platinum group metal and a zeolite and formed on the enamel layer, and an electric resistor (4); the electric resistor (4) being insulated from the environment; and the metallic substrate (1), the enamel layer (2), the catalyst layer (3) and the electric resistor (4) being arranged so that heat generated when electric power is applied to the electric resistor (4) is conducted to the catalyst layer (3) through the enamel layer (2). It can remove unpleasant odor and harmful gases.
