A high aromatic-content solvent having a boiling point range of 185 DEG -245 DEG C. and a mixed aniline point of not higher than 21 DEG C. is produced by reforming a petroleum fraction containing at least 50% by volume of components having a boiling point range of 150 DEG -215 DEG C. and then subjecting to a fractional distillation.
