PURPOSE:To facilitate the reading of a displayed matter by covering an accelerating electrode, which surrounds a letter indication segmentlike anode, with a fluorescent substance so as to light or flicker in a disired color at the accelerating electrode. CONSTITUTION:Under normal conditions, a fluorescent layer 7, covering an accelerating electrode and comprising Y2O2S:Eu, In2O3, which emits red light red, does not light, and only fluorescent layers 6(a), 6(b) covering anode layers 3(a), 3(b), comprising ZnO:Zn, which emits green light, light and display selected letter pattern or time. When a setting signal is put in, a voltage which is sufficient to make the fluorescent layer 7 light and made of Y2O2S:Eu, In2O3 is applied to the accelerating electrode, and the fluorescent substance made of Y2O2S:Eu, In2O3 and applied on the accelerating electrode lights in red and flickers at 1Hz. Accordingly, at the periphery of the green light which displays the time red light flickers, whereby facilitating the reading. |
