A bearing outer race, especially the outer race (9) of a two-row angular contact ball bearing (5), is secured in the bore (13) of a housing (14) using intermediate sleeves (2, 3) which have an end, rest by means of a flange (20) on the side face (21) of the housing (14) and are connected positively in the axial direction to the outer race (9). To ensure that the bearing outer race (9) can be assembled easily and that the fastening means permit tolerance compensation in the axial direction, the intermediate sleeve (2, 3) is provided with axial tongues (16) which project from the inner surface (15) of the end, are arranged at a distance (A) from the surface (17) of the bore of the intermediate sleeve (2, 3) and have, at the free ends, radial projections (18) with undercut surfaces (19) which are arranged so as to rest on corresponding surfaces (12) of the outer race (9), and the end (23) of the intermediate sleeve (2, 3) is designed to be flexible in the axial direction. <IMAGE>
