PURPOSE:To provide a fixing method which easily and securely fixes an optical fiber on the laser exit side of the laser probe. CONSTITUTION:This laser probe is constituted of the silver halide optical fiber 1 consisting of a silver chloride and silver bromide, a metallic chip 2a made of a shape memory alloy of Ni-Ti having a through-hole 9 provided with a slit 8 in the part b, a window 3 made of diamond protecting the exit end 1a of the optical fiber, a window holder 4 adapted to hold the window 3 and to press fit and fix the window to the metallic chip 2a, a joint 5 for press fitted and fixed to the metallic chip 2a and also fixed to an outside tube 6 made of polytetrafluoroethylene, i.e., to determine the positional relation of the optical fiber 1 and the outside tube 6, and a front end metallic part 7 press fitted and fixed to the joint 5 to provide the front end of the laser probe. Since the optical fiber is tightened and fixed uniformly over a wide range, the fixing force increases and, therefore, the stable optical characteristics are obtd. The dimensional control of parts and the control of production conditions are both easy. |
