PURPOSE:To provide a metal oxide - hydrogen cell which gives a satisfiable charge-discharge cycle life. CONSTITUTION:A metal oxide - hydrogen cell is equipped with a positive electrode made up of metal oxide, a negative electrode which uses rare earth hydrogen-storage alloy powder as main material and an alkaline electrolyte. Powder of the rare earth hydrogen-storage alloy satisfying such conditions that the hydrogen-storage alloy contains Ta at 0.001-0.1wt.%, and the specific surface of the hydrogen-storage alloy powder in the case where the hydrogen- storage alloy is single-hydroground under such conditions as 2-30 deg.C and hydrogen pressure of 5-10at. is not more than 0.20m<2>/g, a value measured according to BET method, is made to be contained. |
