PURPOSE:To prevent from a short circuit between a metallic light shielding film and a transparent electrode film by laminating a transparent film between the metallic light shielding film and three colored picture elements. CONSTITUTION:A transparent substrate 2 of glass, etc., is sufficiently washed an alkaline component deposited on the surface or oil, etc., being removed and the metallic light shielding film 4 used a metallic Cr thin film, etc., is formed by vacuum evaporation, etc. After the formation of the metallic light shielding film 4, an insulating film 6 consisting of a transparent resin of an acryl resin, etc., is applied on the total surface by a spin coating, etc., and after coating, it is heated to be hardened. After the formation of the insulating film 6, three colored picture elements 8,10,12 are formed and the surfaces of the picture elements 8,10, 12 are covered with an overcoated layer 14 and further on it a transparent electrode film 16 of ant ITO film, etc., is provided. Hence the insulating film 6 is provided so as to cover directly time metallic light shielding film 4, so the insulating film 6 becomes a perfect film and any pinhole does not occur. If the metallic light shielding film 4 is covered with the insulating film 6, the separation from the transparent electrode film 16 is perfect and the short-circuit, does not generate. |
