PURPOSE:To always secure stable image quality by accurately detecting the staining of an optical destaticizing device and instructing maintenance and controlling the light quantity of the optical destaticizing device based on the detected value. CONSTITUTION:An eraser 104 using a light source which optically removes charge on a photosensitive drum is provided with a conductive filter 104a disposed between the power source and the photosensitive drum, a reference value memory 301 which forms a reference potential pattern on the photosensitive drum at an initial time and stores the detected value of the conductive filter 104a with respect to the reference potential pattern, and a CPU 302 which forms a potential pattern on the photosensitive drum with time, and outputs the propriety of copying processing to a display part 308 by comparing the detected value of the filter 104a with respect to the potential pattern with the detected value stored in the memory 301 and judging the compared result. |
