METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COMPRESSING COLOR VIDEO SIGNAL

PURPOSE: To directly compress composite signals as they are by quantizing respective pieces of auxiliary information on luminasity dc and ac and a color dc, which are obtained by making video signals into non-correlations in accordance with respective values where the quantity of the respective quantizations of an auxiliary information group in which information dc is dominant is smaller than the quantity of the average quantization of remaining auxiliary information and entropy-encoding several values. CONSTITUTION: The digital composite color video signal is made into the non- correlation by the space auxiliary band filter device of a non-correlator 12 and the data set of an auxiliary band, which shows luminance information dc and ac and color information dc is generated. The data set is quantized in a quantizer 14 in accordance with the respective values where the quantity of the respective quantizations of the group of the data set in which information dc are dominantly concentrated is smaller than the average quantity of the quantization of the remaining data set. The several quantized data sets are entropy-encoded in an entropy encoder 16. Thus, digital composite color video signal is not divided into respective components but it can directly be compressed.
