<p>PURPOSE:To perform a dynamic tracking control on a driving element and a head even when a nonrecorded part exists in a tracking pattern. CONSTITUTION:When a guard band is traced by one set of magnetic heads out of two sets of magnetic heads 1A, 1B and 1C, 1D provided on head actuators 16 and 17 respectively, while either of plural tracks is traced by the other set of magnetic heads, the dynamic tracking control is performed based on an output of an RF envelope obtained from the other set of magnetic heads or a displacement direction and a displacement amt. which are obtained from the previous RF envelope.</p> |
