PURPOSE:To offer the optical fiber switching device which can be coupled at a low loss, whose repair and maintenance are facilitated, and which is small in size. CONSTITUTION:First of all, a connecting part B is selected, a partition implement gripping/moving mechanism 21 is moved to the vicinity of a connecting part holding plate 8 by gripping two partition implements 19 being in both adjacent parts of an optical fiber 22. whose connection is to be changed and an operating space of a connector plug gripping implement 28 is secured by widening a distance between two partition implements 19, a connector plug carrying/inserting and drawing-out mechanism 24 is driven, a connector plug 32 of the connecting part B whose connection is to be changed is gripped by the connector plug gripping implement 28, its coupling is released and it is coupled temporarily to a dummy connector plug 33, and two partition implements 19 are returned to its original position. In the same way, a connecting part A is selected and a connector plug 31 of the connecting part A is coupled to the connector plug 31 of the connecting part B, and the connector plug 32 coupled temporarily to the dummy connector plug 33 is coupled to the connector plug 31 of the connecting part A. |
