PURPOSE:To provide the distance detecting device for a camera, which can obtain distance measuring information of high reliability by varying the number of times of light emission of light, in the case of deterioration of the distance measuring information which is apt to be generated at the time of measuring a distance, etc., such as at the time of measuring the distance to an object to be photographed or at the time of low temperature, in the case light from a light emitting element is projected plural times toward the object concerned at the time of measuring the distance. CONSTITUTION:By varying the number of times of light emission and a light emission interval from LEDs 3a, 3b and 3c at the time of measuring the distance, in accordance with the case of measuring the distance, and the case of photographing at a low temperature by a control circuit 47, determination of exact distance measured value corresponding to a photographing state can be secured. |
